Simple Mapo Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1/2 white onion (diced)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 lb ground pork (omit to make this dish vegetarian)
  • 400 g tofu block (drained, cubed)
  • 2 stalks green onion (diced)
  • 1 pack Mabo Tofu sauce mix

Procedure

  1. In a large pan, heat 1 tbsp oil over medium high heat.

  2. Add the onion and garlic to the pan. Cook for 2 minutes or until onions have slight golden color.

  3. Add your ground pork. Cook until 80% cooked - about 2 minutes.

  4. Add your Mabo Tofu sauce mix. Combine well.

  5. Add your cubed tofu and mix well. Lower the heat to simmer and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.

  6. Garnish with green onions and turn off the heat.

  7. Serve with hot rice and garnish with cilantro.
