Homemade Chicken Broth

Ingredients

  • 2.5 lb chicken bones
  • 1 large onion (halved)
  • 1 medium rock sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 6 qt pot

Procedure

  1. In the 6qt pot, add your chicken bones, rock sugar, white onion, and salt. Fill the remainder of the pot with cold water.

  2. Bring the pot to a boil over high heat.

  3. Remove the foam from the top of the broth.

  4. Lower the heat to low and allow to simmer for 3 hours.

  5. Using a strainer, remove the bones and onions from the broth.

  6. Freeze or use the broth for soups, hotpots, noodles, etc.
