Dad's Sauteed Green Beans with Garlic

The perfect pair with my Asian styled steak is my dad’s garlic green beans stir fry 🤤 it has the perfect amount of crunch and flavor. This was a dish my dad would often make for us growing up (and I hated removing all those ends and stems of the green beans after school 😂)

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb green beans (trimmed, ends removed)
  • 1/2 head garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp MSG
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Trim and remove the ends of the green beans. Wash and set aside.

  2. In a large wok, add 2 tbsp of cooking oil over medium high heat.

  3. Once hot, add your minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.

  4. Add your washed green beans. Sauté for 1 minute.

  5. Add 1/4 cup water. Sauté for 2 minutes.

  6. Add your seasonings: salt, sugar, MSG. Sauté for another 3 minutes.

  7. Turn off the heat and serve immediately.
