Garlic Noodles by Rasa Malaysia

Ingredients

  • 1 lb spaghetti box
  • 1 tbsp parmesan cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 tbsp Maggie soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Procedure

  1. Bring a large pot of water to boil. Do not salt the water. Cook spaghetti according to the box package for al dente (approximately 10 minutes).

  2. While the pasta is cooking, mince your garlic.

  3. Right around 2 minutes left of cooking time for your pasta before al dente, bring a large pan to high heat. Add your butter and allow it to melt.

  4. Add your minced garlic to the large pan and saute until golden.

  5. Add your sauces to the large pan: Maggie soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Stir well with the garlic and butter.

  6. When the timer goes off for your pasta, directly pull the pasta from the boiling water into the large pan using tongs.

  7. Combine well the pasta with the sauce mixture. Add ladles of pasta water from the large pot as you combine to help keep the pasta continue to cook and soften.

  8. Add the parmesan cheese and combine. Add more pasta water if needed to help the cheese melt well with the sauce.

  9. Continue cooking the pasta in the sauce mixture until softened.

  10. Serve hot. These noodles paired very well with our crawfish boil.
