Vietnamese Tomato Rice - Com Do

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of rice (uncooked)
  • 3-4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/3 tsp MSG

Procedure

  1. Cook the 2 cups of rice ahead of time with your rice cooker.

  2. Bring your wok to medium-high heat. Add your 2 tbsp oil and minced garlic.

  3. Once the garlic becomes golden (not brown), add your tomato paste and stir for 30 seconds.

  4. Add your cooked rice and combine well so the red color is evenly distributed.

  5. Season with soy sauce, sugar, and MSG.

  6. Continue to stir and combine for another 2 minutes. Turn off the heat.

  7. Serve this rice with any protein and side of veggies.
