Sauteed Chives and Beansprouts - He Gia Xao

This was a common rotation in my household for those busy weekdays. It takes only a few minutes to prep and cook but tastes great with rice.

Ingredients:

  • one bundle chives (sliced into 2” pieces)
  • 1 bag of beansprouts
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/3 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp msg
  • black pepper
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. In a large wok, heat 2 tbsp cooking oil over high heat.

  2. Add your garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.

  3. Add your chives and beansprouts. Sauté for 2 minutes.

  4. Season with salt, sugar, and msg. Sauté again until fully combined and beansprouts have cooked through (another minute).

  5. Serve with side of rice.
