Vietnamese Shaking Beef - Bo Luc Lac

Ingredients

  • 2 lb beef sirloin (cubed)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium white onion (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp MSG

Procedure

  1. Marinate your cubed beef with garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and MSG. Allow to marinate in the fridge overnight.

  2. 30 minutes prior to cooking, take the marinated beef out to cool to room temperature.

  3. In a wok, add 2 tbsp of oil over high heat. Wait until smoking and add your onions and beef. Allow to char on one side prior to stirring. Continue to cook until all sides are cooked (medium or medium-well based on your own preference).

  4. Serve with fresh vegetables (tomato, lettuce, cucumbers) and rice.
